Formal Requirements Sought in All Documents, Regardless of Hague Convention Status
Selling from abroad?
Start with our step-by-step guide to selling remotely in Turkey using a POA.
Open the remote selling guide →-
The Power of Attorney must contain the grantor’s full identity details exactly as they appear in the passport. -
The photograph of the grantor is required on many POAs issued abroad; the Land Registry may reject documents without it. -
The property details must be clearly identified (city, district, neighbourhood, parcel, independent section). -
The POA must explicitly authorise sale, signing at the Land Registry, and receiving the sale price (ahzu kabz authority). -
If the POA is issued abroad, an Apostille certificate is required for validity in Turkey unless a bilateral treaty states otherwise. -
The signature and seal of the foreign notary must be present and readable; blurred or unclear stamps may cause rejection.
